St. Louis, MO – The CyberBully Hotline was recently recognized with a 2013 Excellence in New Communications award from the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR), a global nonprofit and think tank dedicated to studying the latest advancements in communications tools.
A CyberBully Hotline case study on reducing school fighting in the Warren County R-III School District in Missouri helped the organization win the SNCR award. The study details how the CyberBully Hotline helped school leaders at Black Hawk Middle School in Warrenton, MO reduce students disciplined for fighting by 92% in one year.
“In concert with our robust character education efforts, the CyberBully Hotline program helped us address fighting and other problems,” said Shawn Kelsch, associate principal at Black Hawk Middle School. “Students provided us with anonymous tips through the system that helped us prevent many incidents from ever happening.”
The CyberBully Hotline case study was recognized in the Technology Innovation category of the SNCR awards. A panel of SNCR Fellows reviewed the entries and selected the winners.
“2013 has been a big year for the CyberBully Hotline,” said Margaret Schatz, national marketing director of the CyberBully Hotline. “After launching version 2.0 of the product in June 2013, we received an Award of Excellence from Tech & Learning Magazine, and now we’ve received another award from the SNCR. We hope to help many more schools with anonymous reporting in 2014.”
